Indirect veneer is a very thin (contact lens thin) porcelain layer placed on the outer surface of the teeth to change the color and shape of the teeth. It has outstanding aesthetics, thanks to the material's high light transmittance, it creates the appearance of a natural tooth. Since the veneers are only placed on the lip surface of the teeth, they only require minimal (approx. 0.3 mm) preparation, but in some cases they can be prepared completely without sanding. It is possible to fix only 1 or 2 teeth with veneers in order to make them more aesthetic if we are not satisfied with them, but by extending it to the width of the entire smile, we can achieve a dramatic change.
How is indirect veneer made?
All aesthetic procedures are preceded by a thorough consultation. Afterwards we discuss what the patient's ideas are, what he/she would like to change about his/her smile, and what options are available according to the oral circumstances. At the end of the consultation, we will take photos of your smile and take a silicone impression, which will help the dental technician design and later model the wished smile from wax. During the next session, the doctor uses the template to prepare the temporary veneers in the mouth, so the patient has the opportunity to see the expected result before the procedure, so we can modify it as desired so that the end result is perfect. Then - if necessary - we prepare the teeth with minimal grinding, take an impression, and then the patient leaves with temporary veneers. The technician prepares the final ceramic veneers, which are glued during the third session.
